Dozens of Trees in Kebayoran Baru Pruned

A total of 13 prone to fall trees in the Kebayoran Baru District, South Jakarta, were pruned as a preparedness for potential extreme weather and the arrival of the rainy season.

Kebayoran Baru District's Head Unit of Park and Forestry, Radem Hartawan said pruning was carried out to reduce the risk of falling trees which could endanger the safety of residents and road users.

He explained that 56 joint personnel were deployed, supported by nine trucks and four mobile cranes to facilitate the process of pruning tall and dense trees.
"A total of 13 trees were pruned consisting of various types, including mango, mahogany and banyan," he explained.
Pruning of trees prone to falling was carried out on Jalan Pakubuwono, Jalan Kerinci, Jalan Hang Lekir, Jalan Wijaya, Jalan Mendawai, Jalan Darmawangsa, and Jalan Hang Tuah.
Radem appealed to residents to always be alert and not to take shelter or park vehicles under shady trees when heavy rain accompanied by strong winds occurs.
"If people find a tree whose branches or trunk are rotten and dangerous, they are expected to report it immediately so that action can be taken," he suggested.
Meanwhile, Gunung Urban Village's Head Section of Economy and Development, Muhammad Zulfikar stated the pruning in the work area was carried out after receiving reports from residents, both via letter and the JAKI application.
"We will continue to collaborate in monitoring trees that are likely to fall during rain or strong winds by involving PPSU personnel," he stated.
